Comprehensive
Your medical history, symptoms, labs, lifestyle, medications, nutrition, stress, sleep, and goals are considered together rather than as separate pieces.
For people who want more time, more continuity, and a physician who can look at the full picture.
The Ayur Membership is a year-long partnership with Dr. Malathi Acharya, MD, combining conventional medical expertise with integrative approaches including nutrition, lifestyle medicine, Ayurveda, acupuncture, and mind-body care when appropriate.
Instead of trying to address everything in a single appointment, Dr. Malathi has time to understand your history, review patterns over time, and build a personalized plan around your health, priorities, and goals.

You may be doing many of the right things already.
You eat well. You exercise. You pay attention to your sleep. You may have seen specialists, had labs checked, changed your diet, or tried supplements.
And yet, something still feels unresolved.
Sometimes the problem is not a lack of medical care. It is that no one has had enough time to step back and look at how the different parts of your health fit together.
The Ayur Membership was designed to create that time and continuity.
You don’t need to push harder. You need a clearer map.

A single visit can provide useful information, but complex health concerns often change over time.
Sleep may affect energy. Hormonal changes may overlap with metabolic health. Stress, nutrition, medications, activity, and medical history may all contribute to the clinical picture.
Membership-based care gives Dr. Malathi the opportunity to follow those changes instead of treating each visit as an isolated event.
She gets to know your history, your goals, your previous testing, and how your health evolves over the course of the year.
That continuity is the foundation of the Ayur Membership.

Dr. Malathi Acharya is Board-Certified in Internal Medicine and a Diplomate of the American Board of Integrative Medicine.
Ayur does not replace your primary care physician or specialist care. Dr. Malathi works as an additional layer of support, helping you understand the broader clinical picture and make informed decisions about your health.
Your medical history, symptoms, labs, lifestyle, medications, nutrition, stress, sleep, and goals are considered together rather than as separate pieces.
There is no standard protocol. Recommendations are selected according to your medical history, priorities, clinical needs, and preferences.
Conventional medical knowledge is combined with evidence-informed approaches from nutrition, lifestyle medicine, Ayurveda, acupuncture, clinical hypnosis, and mind-body medicine when appropriate.
Your plan is not static. Over 12 months, Dr. Malathi can follow your progress, review new information, and adjust recommendations as your needs change.

A comprehensive review of your health history, previous testing, current concerns, lifestyle, and goals.
This extended first appointment gives Dr. Malathi time to understand not only individual symptoms, but how the different parts of your health may connect.
Longer follow-up appointments throughout your 12-month membership, typically recommended monthly depending on your care plan.
There is time to review progress, discuss new concerns, and make thoughtful adjustments.
Short check-ins may be used between scheduled visits when appropriate, helping maintain continuity without waiting until the next full appointment.
Communicate through Practice Better, access relevant notes and care information, and receive educational resources selected for your care.
Medical acupuncture may be incorporated when clinically appropriate.
Acupuncture appointments require an in-person visit at Ayur’s Portola Valley practice.
Clinical hypnosis may be considered as part of an individualized care plan for appropriate concerns, including stress and certain gut-brain conditions.
Your recommendations may include nutrition, lifestyle changes, supplements, mind-body strategies, Ayurveda, acupuncture, or other approaches based on your individual needs.
Dr. Malathi can review relevant laboratory results in the context of your broader health history and discuss appropriate next steps.
When additional testing is needed, ordering may be coordinated with your primary care physician or another appropriate provider.
Talk with Dr. Malathi about what you are experiencing, what you have tried, and what you are looking for from your care.
There is no obligation to join.
If the membership is a good fit, your first full appointment gives Dr. Malathi time to understand your medical history, current concerns, testing, lifestyle, and priorities.
From there, she develops an individualized integrative care plan.
Through ongoing appointments, check-ins, lab review, and communication, your care can evolve as new information becomes available and your priorities change.
This is not a one-time protocol. It is an ongoing physician-patient relationship.
The purpose of the membership is not to promise a particular outcome.
It is to provide something that can be difficult to find in a conventional appointment structure: time, continuity, context, and a physician who knows your story.
Over the course of the year, the work may focus on areas such as:
Your care is individualized, and results vary from person to person.
