Privacy Policy
Ayur Integrative Medicine · Website & Online Privacy
Effective Date: October 14, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Ayur Integrative Medicine ("Ayur," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, shares, and protects personal information when you visit www.ayur.today (the "Website"), contact us, or subscribe to our communications. It also explains the privacy choices and rights available to you, including under the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CCPA/CPRA) and the California Online Privacy Protection Act (CalOPPA).
1. Website Information vs. Your Health Records
This Privacy Policy covers information collected through the Website and our marketing and communications.
Health information that we create or receive as your healthcare provider (for example, your medical history, clinical notes, and records of care) is "protected health information" and is governed by our Notice of Privacy Practices under HIPAA and California medical privacy law. If this Privacy Policy and the Notice of Privacy Practices differ for health information, the Notice of Privacy Practices controls.
Please do not send medical or sensitive health information through the Website contact form, the newsletter, ordinary email, or text message. These channels are not designed for protected health information. Contact our practice to use an appropriate secure method, such as our patient portal.
2. Information We Collect
Information you provide to us
- Contact and call-back requests: your name, phone number, email address, preferred visit type, and any message you choose to write.
- Newsletter subscriptions: your first name, last name, and email address.
- Direct communications: information you include when you call, email, or otherwise contact us.
Information collected automatically
When you use the Website, we and our service providers may automatically collect:
- Device and browser information (such as browser type, operating system, and screen size)
- Internet Protocol (IP) address and approximate location derived from it
- Pages viewed, links clicked, time on page, and the website or advertisement that referred you
- Cookie and similar identifiers
We use Google Tag Manager to manage analytics and measurement tags on the Website. See Section 4 for details and your choices.
Booking and patient portal
Scheduling and our patient portal are provided by Practice Better at ayurintegrativemedicine.practicebetter.io. When you click a booking link you leave the Website, and the information you enter there is collected and handled under our Notice of Privacy Practices and Practice Better's own terms and privacy policy.
3. How We Use Information
We use personal information to:
- Respond to your requests and schedule discovery calls and appointments
- Send newsletters and practice updates you have asked to receive
- Operate, secure, and maintain the Website and prevent fraud or abuse
- Understand how the Website is used and improve its content and performance
- Measure the effectiveness of our outreach
- Comply with legal obligations and protect our legal rights
We do not use the information you submit through the Website forms to make automated decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects on you.
4. Cookies, Analytics, and Your Choices
Cookies are small files placed on your device. Some are necessary for the Website to work. Others help us understand Website use and measure our outreach.
You can control cookies through your browser settings, including blocking or deleting them. Blocking some cookies may affect how parts of the Website work. You can also use browser extensions or privacy settings that block analytics and tracking technologies.
Do Not Track. Because there is no common standard for "Do Not Track" browser signals, the Website does not currently respond to them.
5. How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information for money. We share personal information only as described below.
Service providers
We use vendors that process information on our behalf, under agreements that restrict their use of the information. They include:
- Google (Google Tag Manager and related analytics tools): Website analytics and measurement
- MailerLite: newsletter delivery and subscriber management
- Practice Better: online scheduling and the patient portal
- Our web hosting and email providers: to operate the Website and deliver form submissions and email
Embedded content and social links
The Website embeds YouTube videos and Google Maps and links to our pages on Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and YouTube. These providers may collect information such as your IP address and your interaction with the embedded content when you view or click it, under their own privacy policies.
Advertising and "sharing" under California law
Some analytics and measurement tools can qualify as "sharing" personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising under California law. You may opt out of this sharing at any time by contacting us using the details in Section 13, and we will act on your request.
Legal and safety reasons
We may disclose information to comply with a law, subpoena, warrant, or court order, to protect the rights, property, or safety of Ayur, our patients, or others, or in connection with a business transfer such as a merger or sale. Disclosures of protected health information are governed by our Notice of Privacy Practices.
6. How Long We Keep Information
We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes described in this policy, to meet legal and recordkeeping obligations, and to resolve disputes. Contact form submissions are kept while we respond to you and for a reasonable period afterward. Newsletter information is kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it. Medical records are retained according to California law and our records policies. Information in routine backups is deleted through normal backup rotation.
7. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards, including SSL/TLS encryption of data submitted through the Website. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Your California Privacy Rights
If you are a California resident, you have the right to:
- Know what personal information we collect, use, disclose, and share, and the categories of sources and recipients
- Access a copy of the specific personal information we hold about you
- Delete personal information we collected from you, subject to legal exceptions
- Correct inaccurate personal information
- Opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information
- Limit the use of sensitive personal information, where applicable. We do not use sensitive personal information from the Website for purposes beyond those permitted by law.
- Non-discrimination: we will not deny you services, charge different prices, or provide a different level of service because you exercise these rights
Categories of personal information
In the past 12 months, we have collected the following categories of personal information, for the business purposes described in Section 3:
- Identifiers: such as name, email address, phone number, IP address, and online identifiers
- Internet or other electronic network activity: such as browsing activity and interactions with the Website
- Geolocation (approximate): derived from IP address
- Other information you choose to provide: such as the content of a message you send us
We have not sold personal information for monetary value in the past 12 months. Information collected through analytics and measurement tools may be considered "shared" as described in Section 5.
How to exercise your rights
To make a request, email support@ayur.today or call +1 (650) 671-2023. We will verify your identity by matching information you provide to information we already hold, and we may ask for additional details. We will respond within 45 days, and may extend that period once by up to 45 more days where permitted.
You may use an authorized agent to submit a request on your behalf. We may require proof of the agent's authority and may contact you to verify your identity directly.
Rights under the CCPA/CPRA apply to personal information about website visitors. They do not apply to protected health information covered by HIPAA or California's Confidentiality of Medical Information Act. Your rights over your medical records are described in our Notice of Privacy Practices.
California "Shine the Light"
California Civil Code Section 1798.83 allows California residents to request information about disclosures of personal information to third parties for their direct marketing purposes. We do not disclose personal information to third parties for their own direct marketing purposes.
9. Residents of Other States
Residents of some other states may have similar rights to access, correct, delete, or opt out of certain processing. You may submit a request using the contact details in Section 13, and we will consider it under the law that applies to you.
10. Email and Marketing Communications
We send newsletters and practice updates only to people who have subscribed. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link at the bottom of every email, or by contacting us. Unsubscribing from marketing emails does not stop messages about your care or appointments.
11. Children's Privacy
The Website is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16 through the Website. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
12. Links to Other Websites
The Website links to third-party websites and services that we do not own or control. We are not responsible for their privacy practices. Please review their policies before providing personal information.
13. Changes to This Policy and Contact Us
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will post the updated policy on this page and change the effective date above.
