When Your Genes Leave You Unsure of What’s Next
When cancer runs in your family, or you’ve tested positive for a genetic risk like BRCA or Lynch syndrome, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed.
One doctor says “wait and watch.” Another says “act now.” And online advice conflicts.
At Ayur, we turn fear into clarity by connecting your genes, lifestyle, and biology into one actionable plan.

From Fear to Empowerment
“Like many people, I have a primary care physician and specialist doctors, but no one to orchestrate the completion of medical care. She provides me with the guidance I need to live my fullest life. She takes the time to learn about my personal medical history but also my family. She is a coach who knows how to motivate me, keep me focused, and ultimately help me win.”— K.K.

What Integrative Prevention Can and Cannot Do
Integrative prevention can:
- Help you understand and act on genetic or family risk
- Support nutrition, metabolic health, and hormone balance
- Offer mind-body strategies for living with uncertainty
- Help you organize questions for genetic counseling
- Coordinate alongside your existing care team
Integrative prevention does not:
- Guarantee that cancer will not develop
- Replace genetic counseling or recommended screening
- Diagnose or interpret genetic test results
- Replace your primary care provider or specialists
- Recommend forgoing medically appropriate screening
Your screening schedule and risk-reducing decisions remain a conversation with your primary care team, genetic counselor, and specialists.

Yes. Reviewing your medical history, prior testing, and any genetic counseling reports helps build an accurate picture of your risk. Bring what you have to your consultation, and Dr. Malathi can help identify what additional information may be useful.
You should continue seeing your primary care provider and any specialists, including genetic counselors or oncologists. Ayur is complementary, not a replacement, and coordinates alongside your existing care team.
Ayur is an out-of-network practice, so payment is made directly to the practice. Our model is designed to be eligible for HSA, FSA, or HRA funds. Check with your tax professional or plan administrator regarding eligibility.
